December Wick and Oil

11st Sunday – Dec. 1 – Latter-day Saint Woman Manual B-- Lesson 34 – Individual & Family Prayer -- Manual A – Eternal Marriage
All of us can communicate with our Heavenly Father. When we pray, we are actually speaking with Him, either vocally or by forming thoughts in our minds. Prayer is a form of worship.
If we are sealed for eternity and continue to live worthily, we shall be families forever. Our earthly families will remain permanently ours. And we can also continue to increase, adding spirit children to our posterity.
2nd Sunday – Dec. 8– Teachings of Lorenzo Snow– Chap.23 --”The Prophet Joseph Smith” Page 267
I knew Joseph Smith to be an honest man, a man of truth, honor and fidelity, willing to sacrifice everything He possessed, even life itself, as a testimony to the heavens and the world that He had borne the truth to the human family.
3rd Sunday –Dec. 15 – Teaching of Lorenzo Snow – Chap.24 – “Reflections on the Mission of Jesus Christ” – Page 277
We are all dependent upon Jesus Christ, upon His coming into the world to open the way whereby we might secure peace, happiness and exaltation. His mission, and that which distinguished it from other missions, was this: He came not to seek the glory and honor of men, but to seek the honor and glory of his Father, and to accomplish the work of His Father who sent Him.
4th Sunday – Dec. 22 – “Rediscovering the Christmas Spirit” -- President Thomas S. Monson – Liahona – Dec. 2012
When we have the spirit of Christmas, we remember Him whose birth we commemorate at this season of the year. Our Heavenly Father would want each of us to render to Him and to His Son the gift of obedience. He would ask us to give of ourselves and not be selfish or greedy or quarrelsome.
5th Sunday – Dec. 29 – To be announced.
