September Wick and Oil

11st Sunday – Sept. 1 – Manual B, Lesson 27 – “Caring for our Homes” - Manual A. Lesson 31 -- “Creating an Uplifting Environment in Our homes”
Pres. McKay counseled us to make our homes attractive and to have more activities there. Our children will be happy and glad to bring their friends home if home is a warm friendly happy place. When we live according to the teachings of the Savior we can have the Holy Spirit with us.
Each of us should create a feeling in our homes that will inspire our family. We want our family members to live gospel principles and to make good use of our time and talents.
2nd Sunday – Sept. 8– Teachings of Lorenzo Snow– Chap.17 --”Priesthood -- for the Salvation of the Human Family.” Page 205
The priesthood we hold has been revealed for the salvation of the human family. We must be lively in our minds in reference to it. The object of the priesthood is to make all [people] happy, to diffuse information, to make all partakers of the same blessing in their turn.
3rd Sunday –Sept. 15 – Teaching of Lorenzo Snow – Chap 18 –“Church Leadership and Selfless Service.” – Page 215
We are your servants in the Lord and desire your welfare and the welfare of all mankind. If you will be as faithful and united as the First Presidency and Twelve are faithful and united and will follow us as we follow Christ, all will be well with you.
4th Sunday – Sept. 22 – “Stand Strong in Holy Places’ – Elder Robert D. Hales - May 2013 Ensign – Page 48
Standing obedient and strong on the doctrine of our God, we stand in holy places, for his doctrine is sacred and will not change. Staying on the gospel path of covenants, commandments, and ordinances protect us ad prepares us to do God’s work in this world. In the temple we are prepared to and promise to live the law of consecration. As we press forward along the strait and narrow path, we build progressive spiritual strength—strength in using our agency to act for ourselves.
5th Sunday – Sept. 29 – Combined Meeting.
