I thought I would do a little recap of the RS Birthday Party for those of you who missed it.
They started off with a nice dinner and desert. Then we watched parts of a video about Emmeline B. Wells the 5th General RS President. The Stake has purchase two of these videos to be kept in the library of each building. I highly recommend checking it out and watching it. They also had handouts with the following scriptures on it:
John 12:23-25 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall loseit; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
D&C 89:14, 17 All grain is ordained for the use of man...Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
D&C 31:5 Therefore, thrust in your sickle with all your soul, and your sins are forgiven you, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your back, for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Wherefore, your family shall live.
Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Galatians 6:7 ...for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
It was a fun night and we missed those of you who could not be there. Hope to see you next time.
